In a recent podcast episode I talked about how to get into alignment with what you want to manifest in your life, and one of the keys to achieving that alignment was to just get happy – enjoy life! Laugh, play, relax a little, and just generally let yourself feel awesome!
As I mentioned in that article, when we are stressed or unhappy or fretful, it messes up our vibe. We can’t align ourselves with the happy, joyful, amazing things that we want in life when our dominant energy pattern is the opposite of that.
And that is why it’s so important to give yourself permission to focus on fun; permission to just be happy and enjoy the moment whenever you can. It’s the best way to shift that energy and get yourself into the right alignment for manifesting more happy, joyful things into your life.
So look for ways to add some fun into your life in little ways every day – find ways to laugh by watching a comedy or a kids’ movie, or reading something funny. Or go dancing. Or check out the continuing education programs through your local schools boards or community centres and sign up for classes on something you’ve always wanted to learn. (Let me tell you from experience, you can have a ton of fun with a class full of 30- and 40-something women who all want to learn beginner belly-dancing! 🙂 )
You could turn your music up loud and have a dance party with your kids. You could bake cookies with them and put extra chocolate chips in (because who doesn’t like extra chocolate chips). You could play hooky from work for an afternoon and go play golf or just go home and enjoy the peace and quiet and relax with a great book and a cup of tea. Just do something that feels fun, freeing and joyful to you.
Fun is always the best way to approach things — if you’re having fun, you’re not stressed, you’re not panicking, you’re not focused on what isn’t here yet. When you focus on fun, you are less attached to the outcome, and more focused on the present. And all of these things help pave the way for easy manifesting of all those wonderful things you’re working towards.

It’s hard not to worry, but I know that deliberate creation can do without it and actually works better in its absence. Eliminating it is tough, but life does improve tremendously once free of it!
Agreed. It can be hard to just let yourself go and enjoy the freedom of having fun sometimes (after all, there are so many other things we “should” be doing with our time, right?) But something that I’ve discovered about myself is that I get sick when I give in to the “shoulds” too often. When I feel guilty about taking time off to just goof off and do things that I enjoy, or even just taking a night off to vege-out completely and watch TV or something, it’s as if my body says “Fine — you want a valid excuse for time off to relax and do nothing? Try this on for size!” and then I get sick with something (like my current flu, for instance) that ensures that I have to take that time off. Something I still need to learn is how to give myself that gift of time to just enjoy what I want to do without feeling the need to justify it to myself or anyone else — before I’m made to do it and can’t really enjoy it anyway!
