We all have dreams and goals that we want to achieve in our lives, and I’m willing to bet that, if you’re reading this blog, you’re already pretty LOA-savvy and know that believing in yourself and in your own ability to succeed is by far the biggest factor in that eventual success. But at the same time, I’m also willing to bet that you’ve had at least a few episodes of self-doubt and maybe even despair over those dreams and goals, too (don’t worry – we’ve all been there!) So what’s a smart LOA-er to do when you’re feeling down and wondering how to build your self confidence? You check out my five confidence-boosting strategies, of course… 😉
Five Strategies to Help You Build Your Self Confidence
Visualize your success. If you want to build your self confidence, the first thing to do is to make yourself believe that you actually can be successful! Visualize yourself as being successful in whatever it is you wish to accomplish or achieve. Use your imagination to paint a vivid picture in your mind of yourself in your success, and give the image as many details as possible. What are you wearing? What do you see? Who are you with? What noises do you hear? What do you smell? What can you touch? Build in details from all your senses and use them to create an image in your mind that is as real as possible and soak yourself in it! Your mind will automatically try to create the reality of what it pictures so don’t allow yourself to focus on thoughts of failure. Bring your success image to mind frequently throughout your day, and believe in the reality of it!
Affirm the positive. Let’s face it; we’re all human, and no matter how LOA-savvy we are, sometimes those nasty little doubtful thoughts still manage to sneak their way into our minds. But when these negative thoughts about your ability to succeed creep into your head, immediately use a positive affirmation to counteract them and build your self confidence back up! Though they may seem simplistic on the surface, affirmations are such powerful tools when used to their full potential. Affirmations have the power to literally reprogram your thought patterns, and you can wield this power consciously to create thoughts of success and confidence!
Don’t make mountains out of molehills. Fear is one of those tricky things that falsely magnifies our problems, making otherwise small(ish) things look disproportionately hard. When faced with an obstacle on your path to success, remind yourself that no problem is insurmountable. Yes, problems often need to be analysed and considered in order to be effectively dealt with, but they must be viewed objectively; focus on the end goal, believe that you’ve already got the problem “covered”, and don’t allow your fear to make an obstacle bigger than it really is. Nothing helps you to build your self confidence better than your ability to keep those bumps in the road in perspective and realizing that you really do have the power to handle anything that comes your way!
Don’t compare yourself to others. There’s a quote I came across on Pinterest that said “Don’t compare your chapter 1 to someone else’s chapter 20”. You don’t know where anyone else is in their journey, so don’t assume you’re doing worse than someone else. You may be just beginning when the person you’re comparing yourself to is further down the road than you are. If you want to build your self confidence, remember that you can’t compare the beginning of your journey to the middle of someone else’s. Instead, believe that you will get there, in your own time and in your own way… and you’ll be freaking awesome doing it, too!
Remember who you really are. You are a part of the Universe. It works with you, for you and through you. You are an integral part of the energy that creates worlds, and that power flows within you at all times. How can you possibly fail with that kind of power in your corner? If the Universe is on your side, then what can possibly prevent you from succeeding, except yourself? Allow yourself to open up to the power that is within you, feel the flow of universal energy that is everywhere and within all that is, and you can’t help but be unstoppable. 🙂
When it comes to our most cherished dreams and aspirations, we all suffer from doubts now and then. But using these five strategies to help build your self confidence will get you back on track to achieving your goals once again!

Oh my! I wanted to read more on self-confidence and here it is! The universe delivered, as usual!
What a great article! The problem is society compares us all and lines us up against each other, but the truth is we can only compare ourselves with ourselves and our own personal progress, so to speak, and nothing else. How to not fall into that trap is keeping these little gems in mind, for they are universal principles, not societal ones, and that is what really counts.
Gotta love those synchronicities that show you’re in the flow… 😉
I completely agree with you on this… comparing ourselves to others is really kind of nonsensical. How can we compare ourselves to someone who has not lived our lives or experienced what we have experienced from our own perspective. It’s really not a valid comparison. All we can really do is strive to do the best we can with what we have from where we are. There’s a quote that I came across recently that says: “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” I love this because it reminds me that we all have our own unique talents, and it’s all about learning what those are and loving and appreciating ourselves for who we really are.
