You’ve been holding back lately, haven’t you? Telling yourself that you’ll get to it soon; telling yourself that it’s not quite the right time yet to do that that thing you know will get you closer to your goal; telling yourself that you’re not quite ready yet. I get it – it’s a big step. It feels enormous. And it scares you. A lot. And you think that if you just put it off a little bit longer – maybe do a little more research, or find a better tool, or whatever… if you just give it a little more time, then you’ll feel ready.
But you know what? You’re never going to feel completely ready for it. You can wait as long as you want and it still will never be the perfect time for you to do what you know you need to do. Waiting doesn’t make it perfect. Taking the initiative and making it work for you – course correcting as you go along – that’s what makes things happen in life.
It doesn’t have to be perfect. But unless you start doing, it’s never going to be at all. So take your passion and make it happen! Tell your fear to take a hike and take a step forward. You can do this, despite your fears. And you must do this, despite your fears. It’s the only way.
Because you see, you are always going to be afraid of something. That’s just the way life is. We fear the unknown. Always have, always will. But dreams don’t get built by hiding yourself in the shadows of “someday soon”. They get built when you take the risk of stepping forward into the sunlight and seizing your Now.
Dreams get built when you acknowledge what’s keeping you stalled where you are and then decide to move forward anyway. Despite your fear. Despite not feeling completely ready. Despite the lack of the “perfect” time and situation.
Stop holding back.
Stop making excuses.
Stop waiting for tomorrow.
Start moving right now.
Get ready. Get set. Go!
